Hi Chris, You need to ask your post office for an international money order, then he can cash it....but the US post office will charge you $3.25 instead of $0.90 to issue it. :( Canada is lumped into the same category as Bolivia and Nigeria when it comes to sending postal money orders from the US. Similarly, when a Canadian sends you funds, it's probably a US dollar "international" money order, which costs the sender more than a regular Canadian dollar domestic money order....I doubt you would want to get paid in Canadian loonies nor would your bank accept a Canadian dollar money order without horrendous fees. I've lived on both sides of the border. Some things just don't make sense even though both countries are very good neighbors. -Paul >i got a question for all you canucks... i sent a us postal money order to a >guy in canada.. and he says he can't cash it... yet i get money orders quite >frequently from people in canada, and have no problems cashing or depositing >them at my local bank...... what gives? |
