This is one of the more interesting dialogues I've read in awhile - especially if the AC will fit under the rear seat and could be vented thru the sheetmetal somehow. Or, what if you cut a hole in the space under the front passenger seat for the battery compartment and discharged towards the rear. Thoughts? What is the max amperage you can get for a vgon alternator - anybody know? Seems it would be a good idea to get one and also to make damn sure that you've got seriously heavy gauge wire from alternator to inverter and that all grounds are completely rust free. This would beat the hell out of having to keep shoring up the regular AC for leaks, compressors, etc. Plus, I love the idea of shore power with somethnig permanently mounted. I"ve already got a big inverter and dual batteries so could probly even run a short while on just those. Dixon |
