Ummm - The oproblem i'm trying to solve is that the sliding door window catch wobbles. From what I can see there is a plate on the outside of the window and a mounting piece on the inside which, I assume, attaches to the outer via a couple of screws passing thru holes in the glass. So, I'm assuming that one or both of these screws are loose hence the whole thing wobbles.

Now mounted on the mounting plate is the big catch which you press down to unlockand slide along. It looks to me like it slides up & down the mounting bar with a spring doing its thing to help too.

So, I've loosened the screw underneath but can't manage to prise the big button off of the mounting bar & I'm afraid to try too hard in case some glass breaks.

Shoudl the screw fall out ? or does the catch come off with it still rattkling around loose. I can't see how bubblegum or wedgies are going to help. The screw simply drops down and rests in the screwdriver access hole. Bently is no good - or at least I haven't found the info there.

Steve
