I bought an 8mpx Konica Minolta DiMage A2. This is a small pseudoSLR ie looks rather SLRlike but ain't one. It has some really good features, but has difficulty focusing in low light conditions and the images are NO better than I was getting with an old 1.3mpx Sony Mavica FD-88... no better detail when blown-up. It also has huge trouble on sunny days, with shadows either being dead black or the lit bits being burned-out.

It's a camera I would not really recommend. But at least it takes decent memory... I bought a 4gb MicroDrive.

Sony's floppy-disc Mavicas were good wee units, but they had one weak point... the disc drive is prone to failure at high "milages", as happened to the FD-88, an ill-treated university department item.

...anyone got a good Mavica floppy drive lying around spare?

My boss gets excellent (scientific as well as esthetic work) results with his digital Nikon SLR... and this item takes his photocamera lenses.
