Subject: It runs! and tightening the oil cooler
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1

Hey all,

The van runs! Took it for a spin yesterday after the garage fixed the last problems. My problem with no spark from the coil turned out to be a broken wire in the loom, at the section connecting to the front of the distributor (Hall sender?). In addition, a shot fuel pump, loose temp sensor, and a distributor drive gear that was installed one tooth off all worked together to foil smooth running.

Ah, but it purrs now!

Unfortunately, it also drips oil. I discovered that I had neglected to properly tighten the three nuts holding on the oil cooler - doh!! Managed to reach 2 out of the 3 - is there a way to tighten that 3rd nut (the one at the right tip of the cooler?) without dropping the engine? Please say yes... :)

Thanks everyone for all of your help throughout this process. I woulda been mighty stuck had it not been for the advice and parts help of this list!

Regards, Mike.
