Hi Trina;

I've removed the "upstairs" mattress pads and put them in storage......I now store extra blankets and anything else that is "flat" and I've gained a bunch of room "downstairs".

For the bed.......when I go away I keep the bed in the made position. I've put two regular mattress pads on, the ones with the elastics on the corners, then I've got a beautiful piece of thick upholstery fabric that runs from the very back of the van, up and over the seat, and hangs almost down to the floor, and so when I make up the bed I have these three layers down, then I put my fitted sheet on. As I explained to John Carpenter, I have arthritis in my hips and I need to keep warm and soft in bed, without the cold coming up from under the van. Works like a charm, with a down comforter on top!

This past trip I also figured out that I could keep my laptop upstairs folded in a blanket....no-one knows it's there, and it's very safe, and you can watch DVD's when you're camping!!! Just watch out for sudden stops......luckily mine never slid forward and down to the floor!
