This is seldom thought of by people schlepping stuff but, it is a real
danger.  I know firsthand of someone killed in an accident not from the collision,
instead from the head trauma caused by an unsecured spare tire flying forward.
Some time ago a Lister mentioned the sad and unfortunate demise of her fiance
who was killed in a similar manner by an unsecured toolbox.


Volvo wagons come with attachment points for cargo barriers for good reason.
