The BBW46 was a Canadian only option for the syncro, it is a coolant heater. You can find some diagrams in Bentley 82.20 to 82.22. Gary Lee has some details on his website: http://www.telusplanet.net/public/gary2a/rack/bbw46/BBW46.htm

There is an old Eberspacher B1L installed between the water tank and the fridge, it is not working presently, but I have a brand new one in a box in my apartment dieing to make it to the top of my "to do" list. It can put out as much as 7,500 btu's, draws combustion air and exhausts outside the van. The diesel version the D1L hits eBay all the time but the gas ones are harder to come by. You can see the modern Espar version here: http://www.espar.com/htm/Specs/airtronic2.htm

Again the extra tank is on my "to do" list. But I have all the parts for it. It occupies the space on the passender side where the propane tank is on the drivers side. It uses a 2WD fuel filler and expansion tank (driver's side). They are pretty rare to get a hold of. I bought one in a group purchase 3 years or so ago, I have no idea where you could get one now, although I used to hear them talked about regularily on the South African Vanagon list.

The Bagawest is an aerodynamically shaped locking fiberglass box that fits in the front lugage rack of a westy. I use it to carry everything that I want to have in the van "just in case" but do not necessarily need ready access to. I emptied the entire contents under the rear seat into it, and still had room for 150' of hose, a gallon of coolant, a gallon of washer fluid, and a gallon of oil, 12' one gauge jumper cables, a folding chair, the bra for the van, a folding shovel, and probably some other things I cannot remember. It is a LOT of extra storage, at the price of easy garage clearance, but I park outdoors so it has never been a problem for me. It is super easy to attach / detach, takes about five minutes and all you need is a wrench (no drilling). Ease of access depends on your height. With the pop top up you can easily access the door through the pop top window (but I'm only 5'8" so I usually have to stand on something if I am looking deep inside the Bagawest for something. I have not noticed any significant change in milage or top speed. I think I paid $500 Canadian for it.

You can find details on the propane tank guage here: http://members.aol.com/Fkc43/ptgauge.htm

The cab window vent inserts are louvered metal vents that allow minor ventilation with your doors securely closed and locked. I bought them here: http://secure.mycart.net//catalogs/catalog.asp?prodid=1105722&showprevnext=1
