Hi All, Thanks to everyone who chimed in on the oil cooler seal replacement job ! Made the job a lot more understandable from the git-go ! Folks, If you haven't changed this seal already or know of the PO doing it..l.Get it changed ! Mine was cracked in one spot, & it pretty much crumbled upon picking it up! After having done it, I would have to say that I would encourage you to remove it to replace the seal. I cant see getting everything as clean as necessary by not removing it. I liked the lister who recommended the needle nose pliers to stop the flow of coolant. Good Idea ! I only wished that I hadn't read that post the day after! Instead of having two gallons of coolant run down your arm, and onto the driveway, while you're trying to stop the flow, Just let it drain into a bucket ! Also, a good Idea to replace the two hoses, while you're down there. Unfortunately, I was leaking oil for about 50 miles (only a quart) and it was somewhat of a rush job. Folks, do this Seal before you're out in the middle of nowhere. I bought mine at the dealer. $4.40 ea. They only had the one! It would be a good time to flush the coolant system, maybe a new thermostat as well. & check the coolant system hoses front to rear. I used a floor jack, & set the bus up on Four Ramps. Use the beefy one with the cross bar reinforcement. Plenty of room, & I felt it was quite safe. Thanks again, see you all at Burning Man! BTW, I have an extra B/M ticket for sale, $225. P-mail off list for info. John C... SLC, UT PS: How far down the rabbit hole do you really want to go?????
