Subject: engine dieing while AC on high--solved
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="US-ASCII"
Hi all,
A few weeks back I had posted a query about my engine dieing when I was at a
stop
sign and the AC was on full blast. I raised the idle a bit but still had
the problem. So
now I started monitoring it a bit more and discovered that when it starts to
conk out
at idle (under load) at stop sign and I switch it to the medium AC output
fast it averts
the engine from dieing and the RPM's stop falling so low. This leads me to
the conclusion
that it in an electrical output problem rather than a fuel mix problem!
Than I remember a
fellow listee telling me that even though I have a nearly new Interstate
battery, I didn't have
the top of the line (I have something like an MT-250?). Apparently, my
battery just isn't
putting enough current out to sustain the AC on high at idle under load, so
the next time
I get some money to spare I will go and find the best Interstate battery
money can buy ;-)
[or whichever battery evryone agrees on is the best--no need to rehash that
discussion
here--I will do a search of the archives when the time comes].
