A inexpensive alternative, I posted a few months back, is a STATIC window tint (got mine at wal-mart - 20% darkness) that can be trimmed to window size. It's not quite tall enough for the back window, but in my westy, the height of the tint is in line with the back shelf (I have AC). It takes a little time and effort to work the bubbles out, but total cost for back, two rear (as far as I could reach behind the closet), and two halves of the sliding windows was under $20 since I have a significant amount left over. Pros: -NOTICEABLE decrease in time it takes interior to heat -inexpensive -removable (perhaps over winter so it doesn't interfere with rear defrost) -easy installation (can be trimmed to fit) -increases privacy Cons: -some air bubbles -time it takes to make a good look & remove most bubbles -distortion through the tint from inside van I also added a 35% dark $5 strip at the top of the front windshield (the distortion takes some getting used to) which helps when driving into the sun. If I get into more $$, I'm considering a permanent tint, however.
