I was real keen on the idea of replacing those doomed-to-fail coolant lines with stainless until I read the disclaimer which noted: "Country (if noted) is the country in which the manufacturer is based. Because many companies now have factories worldwide, the actual part could be made elsewhere." What a world we live in where every offering has to be parsed to death in order to arrive at something resembling "the rest of the story". Maybe it is a result of internet shorthand or internet charlatans, but, I now always find myself reading any offering on the internet with an eye looking for the hook. Including the name of a country in the description of an item carries with it certain implications. No one cares if the corporate offices of a vendor (manufacturer) is in Bumfuck, China, but we ALL care if the factory is located there. So, does "imported from Germany" mean, in this case at least, MADE in Germany or does it mean that the paperwork for drop shipment was typed in Germany. Simply, what country of origin is stamped ("marked in such a manner as to be durable enough to be viewed by the end user") on these pipes? George |
