Jim, The wiper arms have soft metal where they fit over the drive splines. You have to pull the rubber plugs ... remove the little 10mm nuts ... clean the soft metal out of the splines where it ground out of the wiper arms then refit the arms and tighten the nuts. If too much of the soft metal is gone from the arms then a small washer under the nut will usually fix it. If the arms are really used up, folks have been known to put a small amount of steel wool where the soft metal was. Hope this helps. Mike Houlton, Maine '84 GL 7 pass '85 GL Westy
