Scott is in Talent -- Google maps tells me it's about halfway between Ashland and Medford on I-5. He's a regular on the subaru conversion list and a tdi fan, too.. He rescued me at Syncro de Mayo, helping me repair a timing belt idler in the dirt on our backs for no compensation, all the while doling out useful advice and tips. The sheer volume of tools he crammed into his volvo for a one night visit to the syncro gathering was most impressive. I've never been to Scott's shop (though he offered to let me camp their on my way back to Seattle if I had any issues or just needed a place to crash) but I have no doubt about the quality of his work.

Lots of good info on his site (http://www.turbovans.com/) about his repair philosophy ("What I really do is serve people......I just happen to use fixing cars as the 'vehicle' to do it with"), some tips and a nice section explaining what's so good about vanagons (without ignoring their weaknesses).

All in all, a good mechanic who is a good member of the vanagon community.

Tim
