Subject: Fw: Engine just died
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1"

Howdy:

This past year was fun. I replaced the shocks, brakes, rotors, fuel and injection lines, heads and gaskets, 02 sensor, alternator and cleaned up a lot of poorly grounded wiring. As I learned more and more about vanagons and my 85 in particular, my confidence increased.

And just when things were running cool and smooth and while doing 60 mph on the freeway, the panel lit up like a Xmas tree and the engine just went dead. I then coasted to a stop on the side of the road and was ready to call AAA, when I decided try to start the engine again. To my surprise it started right up like nothing had happened. A quick inspecting at home reveled nothing out of place.

So I'm back to square one, and I have no idea (other than perhaps the fuel filter) what caused the problem and when it may happen again. Thanks everyone for helping me out last year, and any and all recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Vince.
