I'm not a front range local. I took my 91 Syncro Westy over Monarch
Pass (route 50) and 2nd gear was all I could do with the stock
engine. And even then I had to stop once as it was overheating.

Please note - During the past 17 years of operation, several gigabytes of Vanagon mail messages have been archived. Searching the entire collection will take up to five minutes to complete. Please be patient!
