Subject: 84 Camper Starter replacement Question
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=US-ASCII; delsp=yes; format=flowed

I just got a new starter for my '84 Camper and removed the old one from the car, the odd thing is the new one is longer about 5cm and the part that goes into the engine looks slightly different, after putting it in I noticed that the new starter doesn't have a grip inside the engine and therefore doesn't start the engine.

The engine was replaced in 1998, but I don't know if they changed the starter. Is there any way to adapt the new starter or a way to find out which starter exactly is needed?

thanks

Georg;
