It's not the regulator. It's the rubber channel at the back being
unsupported, allowing the window to roak. My 75 had this and my 84 as
well. The cure would be to glue a block of rubber (or screw it in) to
the rear of the inner door structure to locate the lower part of the
channel within the door. I will eventually get around to looking at
this... that clunk is very annoying!
