I'm (slowly) wiring an electric oil pressure gauge into my westy. I got an 8 conductor cable and will use the others later. My wire is long enough to flop around by the left rear taillight. It goes under the van at the thermostat, through the tunnel above the gas tank where the 4WD driveshaft would go, up behind the passenger headlight, through the "firewall" (it's an easy spot to drill; grommets available at Home Despot), and over to the instrument cluster.

With a few feet of slop built in, the total wire length was 26 feet. So when you go to install your widget, now you know how much wire to get!

Oh, and I got a beautiful braided stainless extension _with the right threads_ for my sender. Yum.
