Larry Chase's work on silver sticker tire info and the web page http://www.roadhaus.com/Tires/TirePSIByYear.htm have brought the question to mind........ "What is the correct air pressure for the tires I'm using on my 88 GL.?" I have Michelin 207/75R14's that show 55 PSI on the side of the tire for tire pressure. The Roadhaus list shows tire pressure for the 88 model 2WD vehicle with a 205/70R14 as being 30 psi front, 40 psi rear. So, what pressure should be run in these bigger Michelins I'm running? I was always taught pressure two low will wear the outside edges of the tires, pressure two high will wear out the center of the tie tread. Pressure just right will wear the tire evenly across the tread. So, what's the deal? Given the above info, what pressure should I be running the 205/75R14's at. Thanks, John Rodgers 88 GL Driver. |
