we use the closet space mainly for linens: towels, blankets, sheets, etc... the space under the bench is used for equipment such as a toolbox, electrical cord, spare gas can, bentley manual, work-light, etc... for clothes, on long trips, we both get to pack a stackable rubbermaid box (with lid) that rides on the mattress in the rear with other things such as camping chairs and a camping table. the ice chest rides on the sliding door side of the main cabin area (for weight reasons). the cabinet space above the water tank is reserved for pots pans and lexan plates, bowls, cups, etc... the small drawer to the right of the fridge is for eating utensils and random odds and ends. the cabinet below the drawer is a general storage cabinet, but contains some cooking supplies like spices, oils and such. for toiletries, we've installed a hanging organizer with multiple pockets on the back of the passenger side captains chair, perfect for anything requiring quick access. there's much more, i'm sure...

everybody packs differently, using different compartments for different purposes. some folks will surprise you, using the refrigerator strictly as a (room-temp) storage cabinet - we all use the westy to fit our own needs. it's mostly trial and error, pack it differently and take it on a weekend trip to test it out. make sure to take a pen and paper on these early trips and write down anything that you're missing as you are camping..........for next time. it helps us, personally, to sleep in the top bunk - this allows us to firmly pack the rear (mattress) cargo area and not have to move things that often...............and it helps us to sleep away from all of the clutter.

good luck! dusty.
