Having been a veteran of many, many California based VW shows since the late 70s, you will find most of them happening during the springtime through late June. The activity of California shows tends to fall off through July and August with the Pacific Northwest and other western states picking up the slack. There is the Motherlode show on July 30th in Angels Camp, CA, just east of Stockton, Pomona Swap Meet was yesterday (7/17), but here will be another Pomona Swap Meet on Aug 28th. Labor Day Sunday (9/5) has the Sacramento Bug-O-Rama (unless you're into the "Burning Man" thing, then the following weekend is the Jerome Jamboree in Central AZ. It kinda fizzles out after that with a Pomona here and there until Buses By The Bridge in Lake Havasu, AZ in the middle of January. Then in March it starts all over again.

Note: The Kelley Park Vintage VW Show in San Jose is put on in Mid April by the Golden Gate Chapter of the VVWCA. An excellent show to attend!
