Hi Ben,

I am a day or two ahead of you in my pressure gauge install. My tin is off already :)

Do you have an extension for the oil pressure sender you're happy with? I was able to find something with an M10 end on it so no NPT for me! Also, I posted a message about the amount of wire and its length (24') to go from the front to the back of the van.

As far as the tin goes - the exhaust manifold bolts have to come right out. It's pretty important that you preserve or redo those bolts. If you get scared and can't get them out, you could just break the tin off and put it back on with wire or something. The two bolts on the block are less important - if you break them off, you can drill and retap. It's not important if the threads are perfect there because they only hold the tin on, nothing else.

If you get the exhaust bolts out all the way, cut slots in the tin so you don't have to take the bolts out all the way next time.

Good luck,

tabe johnson/87 westy
