hey tabe,

what extension are you using? i bought the one that volks cafe sells as part of their oil pressure gauge kit. when i originally called and talked to peter, he said that the fittings on the extension are all M10... but now from reading the writeup that ben from volkscafe did for their web page, i am thinking that maybe it is really 1/8"npt, as he makes some comment about the threads being compatible. either way, no big deal, as i bought a M10 to 1/8"npt adapter from summit racing (it's an autometer part, as are my gauge and npt sender)... so if i determine the extension hose really is npt, then i'll just put the adapter on the engine side of the extension instead of the gauge side.

i like your idea! i actually got a new (well, used actually) replacement for the "tin" so maybe i'll just loosen those bolts and break off my old tin (already rusted through at the 2 lower mounting points), and notch my new one. although i really would like to get those bolts out all the way and replace them with brand new parts coated with anti seize.

Ben.
