Don't know if I've posted this little pearl of genius or not before, but if all you're trying to do is access the coolant drain bolts, I took my lower shrouds off and drilled access holes(forget the diameter, but prolly no bigger than 1.5") and then fabricated plugs to fit in the holes for the 99.9% of the time they will be installed. the only problem is that now, the exhaust nuts/bolts won't be getting their annual on/off exercise and may corrode,. I used SS cap screws and SS nuts and blue loctite (like it was going to survive!!. I'll make sure I post as to the next time I have to remove the shields and see if I was wise or foolish. does take the hassle out of the coolant drainning though.

PS Has anybody kept a supply of those backflushT's in their spare parts kit just in case a heater hose goes? Maybe there are straight plastic barbs that do the same thing, I dunno.
