It's nice to see that if you do notice a single complaint you're willing to
quickly jump on the messenger--mostly because that messenger is a only
potential customer and not an "actual customer." I suppose it's possible actual
customers gain pity because they've actively been ripped off whereas potential
customers who walk away from a bad deal can probably fend for themselves.

Whatever the case the salesman from Pop Top Hades wrote in his e-mail he
would LIE to increase his profit if it were him selling the Vanagon. The quote
"To be honest, I'd not mention the modifications...you'll get a much higher
price." It is a lie of purposeful ommission. One who lies is a liar. (For
example: I NEVER SAID the engine DIDN'T have a compression leak.)

You can defend liars all you want because it gives you a fuzzy feeling  about
the world, capitalism, and successful businesses you drive by on the
highway. But if you're defending liars publically you're gonna want to  prepare
yourself for a little resistence. I'm offering some of that resistence  here.

I appreciated the posted tip on the ethics of Pop Top Heaven. Information  is
power, even if it is uncomfortable sometimes.  I won't look to Pop Top
Heaven to buy my bus when the time comes, and I'm guessing you won't  either. I
wouldn't look to buy from them because I understand that even if  they were
honest--and by virtue of what their representative said  they're not-- they need to
buy low and sell high. That equation  doesn't add up in my favor. I'm not
sure sharing that information makes me,  you or anyone else either rude or
inappropriate.

There was a time when lying was considered wrong and where liars were  almost
universally held accountable. I think that made the world a better place.  In
my opinion we should work toward bringing that ideal back.
