Subject: Re: ** HELP ** van heavy gas smell

Ya know ,a cracked plastic fuel line that goes from the pump area to the fire wall may be cracked.Mine once was. It exploded one morning. If cracked, your fuel pressure may be being blead off, and out the crack. Cant pressureize the lines to get fuel through the injectors. The van will buck. Sometimes a fuel problem seems like a electrical problem. If this happens at idle too, try using starting fluid in the throttle housing .Dont know if van is ideling rough for you. If it then runs fine where it ran rough at idle, you got a fuel problem. With the gas smell, you have a injection leak most likely.I replaced the plastic line with rubber fuel injection hose.Gotta be fuel injection hose to take the pressures.Be careful, sounds like these 2 problems may be related. Dont want you to catch fire.Let us know when you fix it , or if you need more help.Roger
