Depends. If - when it ran for those lovely 15 seconds - it ran nicely, then its not the wires. If it ran poorly, then I would say yes. But the question is - why would someone remove the distributor to do this job? I doubt they would so I would say its likely not the problem.
If as you assume, you are getting spark and the injectors are pulsing, my bet would be that you have left off a large air line somewhere around the throttle body.
The slow cranking starter is also not good. Either get a charge on the battery or get a starter booster.
