Jim, the 83 diesel has the same upper and lower radiator mounts as all the waterboxers. It is only the 82 diesel that requires modification of the mounts to allow the later radiator to be used. The 83 diesel radiator uses the same hoses, mounts, fan shrouds, temp switch, etc as the waterboxer radiators since it uses the same radiator to begin with. Don't know the answer to your AC question.
