Hi Max on my 85 of 20 years breaking down my guess is that most foams used for MVSS codes are fire retardant and are in my best guess a 2.8 or 3.0
density with a 40-50 firmness but over the years my van is more like a 35 firmness now.
also another trick is to stack foam go with a very firm base foam of 2" then stack a 2 " meduim firm say a 40 on a 50 or a 40 on a 60 or 35 1" 40 1" and 60
2". if you got the cash and the time anything is possible. heck how about memory foam in a 1.5 inch top on a 2845 foam. good sleepin. ive found that
overstock.com has the best price for memory foam even as a topper pad. good luck c-ya Jonce
