Subject: Black Bears vs Westy Canvas?
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=iso-8859-1

Despite the obvious and clearly stated subject line, allow me to join many others in sharing an off-topic and irrelevant bear story ...

During our Westy visit to Glacier National Park last fall http://www.vanthology.com/1Layout/Journeys/Glacier/Glacier1.html a ranger explained how to tell the difference between the various types of bears found in the park.

"If you run away and shimmy up a tree, and the bear climbs right up after you, it's a black bear," he said. "But if he stays on the ground, and just shakes the tree until you fall out, that's a grizzly."
