In Canada's Globe & Mail newspaper today, there were several excerpts from "this year's annual San Jose State University contest for the worst opening sentence to the worst possible novel."

This excerpt has some connection to carb'ed Vanagons & busses. Enjoy:

"The grand prize winner, Dan McKay of Fargo, N.D., wrote about female anatomy and classic cars, bringing them together in well, a unique way.

"As he stared at her ample bosom, he daydreamed of the dual Stromberg carburetors in his vintage Triumph Spitfire, highly functional yet pleasingly formed, perched prominently on top of the intake manifold, aching for experienced hands, the small knurled caps of the oil dampeners begging to be inspected and adjusted as described in chapter seven of the shop manual.""
