RE: Camp Cooking Someone mentioned the cleanup mess with bacon or sausage. There is a new solution available (at least new to me) and that is pre-cooked bacon or sausage patties. I get them at Costco. The bacon is with the bacon in the regular meat display, the sausage patties in the frozen food. The sausage is pre cooked and frozen. At home it can be 'nuked, in camp just heated up and much less grease to deal with. The bacon can just be thrown on the griddle along with the eggs or pancakes to be heated. The bacon is 'okay', nothing great, kind of bland and not as good as fresh cooked bacon, but no mess to clean up. |
