The whole Joe versus the Black Bear thread makes me curious what folks cook when camping. Me, I tend to prepare my meals at my house, stick them in tupperware (or equivalent) and then store the ready made foods in the fridge. Only have to reheat and that usually is very fast. Breakfast I tend to go for oatmeal with fruit added. Only have to heat water. I don't drink coffee, tending towards getting my caffeine from Coca-Cola, or Tea. With tea, again, all I need do is heat some water. Snacks are dried or fresh fruit, with various salted nuts for salt in the diet (Gorp or trail mix as some would call it). For extended stays I have soups (dry and canned), hot chocolate (mandatory for any camping, but especially nice in the winter). |
