I get yer gist but I don't know exactly how 'off topic' the whole thing
could be, considering you get a free memento of the subject every time you
post to the list...
'Course it didn't help anything that we all posted about getting hit with
the thing so that we'd get hit with it again for posting, and post again
about getting hit again and then creating the various holidays and
traditions and canonizing the guy and etc. etc. and so on... : )

I think Tom picked up on the many messages with the name in the subject. way
off topic but not really offensive or with profanity words. I think the
level of monitoring he does on the list is just to scan the subjects and
watch for cussing.
