While waiting for the tow truck on Saturday tried to start it again. No gas smell this time but would crank and crank without catching. Keep in mind it sat for close to 24 hours so it shouldn't be flooded. Well after towing it home it started right up. This makes me think something electrical is coming loose and killing fuel. I've deduced it to fuel because during the second day of trying to get it to start I no longer had that strong fuel smell and in turn I no longer had the partial start. However still had a humming fuel pump. How does this logic sound?

So my question is... What electrical components control fuel delivery and which ones are likely culprits during startup.

I haven't received much response from the list on this problem so I hope this hasn't "stumped" the experts. Haven't had to take her to a shop for anything but a water pump and I can see the $$$ on diagnosing this problem.

Hi Barrett, Gosh, I'd start with the main hot wires in the main fuse block, & start back to the engine compartment. I've had a loose connector on the main fuse block, work it's self loose, & intermittently stop the whole she-bang! Check hot wires to the engine, ECU, Grounds, of course as well. best, John C...
