I have a 1998 VW OEM 022D ECU. I am running the Aussie performance chip in it fine. I have now tried 5 different chips 3 from one brand and 2 from another brand. In all cases the chip fails and the car can not be started (it just cranks and cranks no firing, I put the other chip in and it fires immediately). I know to align the chip correctly, the Aussie and stock chips work fine. Is it the chip defective or some new scanning done by UPS and the USPS that is erasing the chip? Or is the chip incompatible with the newer motherboards put in the VW ECU? After five defective I am leaning towards the latter.
Does anyone in the Phoenix metro area have a spare VW OEM 022D ECU 94 and earlier that I can borrow for a few hours so I can see if it is the chip or the board?
Thanks,
