It wasn't a Canadian postal money order, it was an international money order. TEM ----- Original Message ----- From: "The Bus Depot" <vanagon@BUSDEPOT.COM> To: <vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM> Sent: Friday, August 05, 2005 4:06 PM Subject: Re: eBay ship to US only - why

U.S. Postal regulations state that a U.S. post office is supposed to cash a US$ Canadian postal money order. Every post office has a copy of this regulation and is supposed to abide by its terms. I also got turned down once, and asked the postal clerk to kindly look it up herself. She did, scowled, and cashed my money order. http://pe.usps.gov/text/Imm/immc3.html#0.2.ZJ24PZ.7ZM6JJ.17T86H.B (toward the bottom). However, here is a report that some counterfeit Canadian postal money orders may now be in circulation, so this may be worth considering (if true). I would doubt that a money order counterfeiter would be much interested in using them to buy Vanagon parts; I'm sure there are much safer and more lucrative ways to launder counterfeit money than to order an obcsure Vanagon part off of Ebay and have it mailed to you! However, if this is true, it may affect the USPS's money order cashing policy. http://scamvictimsunited.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=274& - Ron Salmon The Bus Depot, Inc. www.busdepot.com (215) 234-VWVW _____________________________________________ Toll-Free for Orders by PART # : 1-866-BUS-DEPOT |
