There's a warning on the archive site that a full search will take several minutes. Very few browser connections will last "several minutes" without a time-out. I flouted caution the first time I searched the archives. Sure enough, "CGI <some dire warning or other> timeout". Since then, when I want to search the archives I do it in two or three year-limited 'chunks'. That seems to tame the time-out monster.

Please note - During the past 17 years of operation, several gigabytes of
Vanagon mail messages have been archived. Searching the entire collection
