I find these Westy sighting posts kind of funny. It's definitely a midwest and east coast thing since the list would be bombarded with postings if all of us left coast people started posting Westy sightings. I can see it now: So, I was on my way to the store this morning when I saw a white Westy in Sacramento, it had some cool mud flaps. Anyone on the list? A little later on my 3 mile drive, I saw a nice burgandy Westy with 16" wheels, anyone? While at the local Safeway, I noticed a clean two-tone early Westy parked next to an air-cooled Westy that was kind of rough, anyone? Etc., etc. Would be even worse if people from Santa Cruz decided to join in... Is it Fryday yet? Cheers, Jeff

So, I was traveling into work (Washington DC metro area) on the Dulles Toll Road. I saw a Gold Westy (Vanagon non-GL). 84-85, equipped with AC, but I suspect not working as the driver had his window open, non-power mirrors. Looks like he had a fresh scrape on the sliding door and passenger side rear panel. A list member perhaps? |
