a. utilitarian.
ok. that kinda fits. i like functional stuff. more than 'ornamental'
stuff. trees, yes; flowers, no. like that. :)

b. german van enthusiasts.
dunno ... lots of 'german vans', made by Ford (of germany), mercedes,
Mann, and others. don't really like them others. and i'm not too fond
of the VW Eurovan (keep bumping my head getting in the thing!). and i
like them VW vans that wuz made in South Africa (which is more Dutch
than German). nah, this one's busted. :)

c. dead-following.
i've been waiting for that dead guy in my front yard to crawl home so
i CAN follow him and find where he lives. but ya know, he ain't moved
fer three days now. this one's busted, too. :)

d. nader-voting.
not me, bub!! i hate that rat-faced slimey-lawyer bastard. ever
actually read "Unsafe at any speed"?? then go find the Road & Track
article critiquing that book ... turns out nader misused statistics,
reporting only what he wanted, and flat lied about some of the tests.
so i'm not about to vote for that slimeball ... ever notice when he
comes out with some sensational 'news'?? just often enough to keep his
name in the news, so he can angle for a vice-president's spot.

e. vegans.
no way. MY ancestors, them what made Clovis point weapons, did not go
around 'stalking the wild asparagus'!!! we killed ANImules and ate
'em!!! great big pieces of dead animal flesh, burning over a fire! now
that's the way to spend a saturday night!
somehow, barbecuing artichokes just don't have the same ambiance. even
them folks who cook up skishkabobs with lots of dead plants on 'em
make me a bit suspicious.

now, don't get me wrong .... i'll kill and eat a brussel sprout or
corn cob and even a noisy squash or two, just out of spite. but it's
just not the same ... sitting in a tree with a .30-30 and a Redfield
30x scope, hollow-point ammunition, camo fatigues, face paint, squash
musk smeared on your boots ... waiting. and waiting. and waiting for
that herd of squash to waddle out of the woods and over to the pond.
and when you do get one or two to come out in the open, hell, there's
not enough left to eat after you shot 'em. :(  and if you use any
smaller than a .30-30, they just run around in circles, squeeking
their little brains out.

i have heard that corn-hunting with a bow-and-arrow in the midwest is
ok. haven't tried it, though.

so basically, i disagree. strongly.

i think that vw bus owners, and in particular the lot of wierdos on
this list, are just ordinary psychos who manage to blend in with the
rest of the human herd, except for one thing: they like bread-boxes on
wheels. has something to do with the idea of a tent-on-wheels. or
outhouse-on-wheels. or something. might be interesting to run some
sort of MMPI pschological test and see what it is that vw bus owners
do have in common. beside their buses, that is. :)
