After thinking about this for awhile I have the answer to this scooter hauling problem.

The Honda 350 is a bit heavier than one would think, and I know it's in the 400 lbs. range. Had one myself, back when I was young and dumb, along with many more, but of English, or German origin.

When I worked as parts mgr. at a bike shop there was available for folks who wanted to tow the bike along, without a trailer a basket that fit into any receiver and held the front wheel of the bike only.

You would compress the fork's down with Ancra tie downs to the bottom of the vehicles bumper. However, this wouldn't work with the Vanagon bumper.

So you pull them down with the Ancra tie downs to the tow hooks, which just happen to be at a perfect angle to bottom the forks down all the way, and hold them for the long haul without having the bike bouncing behind you.

The only thing extra you have to do is take the chain off the bike.

No big deal.

No big weight on the back bumper, no looking like Moon Unit as your bumper is dragging down the road at speed.

Why didn't you guys as me about this first?--
