Back in 1994 my wife and I were driving back from a trip to Alaska (alas, we did not have a Westy at that time). We were in Kansas around dusk and were looking for a place to camp near Junction City, Kansas. We found a local fishing access area that offered free camping. We drove in and looked around, but both of us got a weird vibe from it (mind you, we had been free camping for most of our way up and back to Alaska). So, we headed out and sprung for a motel that night.

A year later, we were watching the news and they mentioned that the Timothy McVeigh used this very same campground to put the final touches on his Ryder truck bomb before heading to Oklahoma City. Weird.

Brian W.
