Hi Ted, (Do you mind if I call you Ted?)

My parents toasted a transmission in their 82 westy on their way back from FL this spring. Mark Dearing at Salem Import in VA helped them locate a replacement.

Any aircooled vanagon tranny will fit, from 1980-83.5. The 79 transmission will not fit. A waterboxer transmission will not fit.

BTW, it would help others to lend a hand if they knew where you are located.
