All,

I have a $150 '85 Vanagon that has been sitting for over a year....

I would like to get it running (was told it ran before it was 'set')
and am looking for recommendations...

I have been told to remove plugs, shoot some oil in the cylinders,
somehow get the fuel pump to run while dumping out the tank from the
return line from the fuel injection (engine). To accomplish the fuel
pump, can I just turn the key?

Any other recommendations are welcome...This thing has a very straight
body, minimal seam rust and pretty decent (read 'dusty and dirty')
interior.

I am planning on towing it with the front wheels up from IL to FL...
