Howdy, I have been having problems with the idle on my air cooled 82 Westy. I did a full troubleshooting of the ignition and fuel injection system this morning and narrowed the problem down to the auxillary air regulator (AAR). This is consistent with the symptoms and somebody on the list suggested this was the problem. The AAR checks out electrically but does not close after five minutes when the ignition is on(Bentley 24.9). I tested the electrical lead to the AAR and it is only getting power when the starter is engaged, no power with the ignition on. So, I think the AAR is fine (replaced about a year ago), but it isn't getting power. Why? There is another test in the Bentley, but I am not sure how to do it. Check out Bentley 24.15. It says that the AAR and wires can be checked by connecting an Ohmmeter to terminal #34 at the ECU plug and #37 at the double relay. However, I can't find a terminal labeled #37 at the double relay. Any suggestions? Thanks Jake |
