i've read some really good ideas from this post! i think that the ditching the sink faucet and adding a longer connecting hose and a spray attachment is a great idea. has anybody had success w/ this modification and keep the two-way (water tank or city water) functionality of this westy water system? that would be a concern for me. my best mod. is somewhat of a common one, being the upper bunk step. however, i built it myself (rather than pay somebody $50), AND IT LOOOKS MUCH BETTER. i found a guy on theSamba selling pieces from a parts lot that he bought. he had two rubber step pads w/ the VW logo on them. the large one was roughly 3"x4" and about 2.5" tall w/ a built in bolt that came out from the bottom. i bolted the step pad to a piece of painted wood, to a series of pipe fittings and a large piece of steel pipe to make a really nice looking bunk step. after it was all painted, it really looked like something that belongs on the westy. probably around $20US.
