That seal is more for keeping dirt out than oil in.Maybe you are overfilling the box. Also check to make sure the breather at the front of the trans is not clogged. The is also a plastic bushing behind the seal. The selector shaft can be removed to make changing both easier. Both are readily available at the dealer. I can look up the numbers for you tonight.
