RE: " I was checking out some Vanagons on eb*Y and came across something that only a Vanagon owner could come up with: "This is a Wolfsburg edition, comes with AC-works but does not blow cold." I know with most other types of vehicle, if the A/C isn't blowing cold, most people would say that it's not working. The reason for A/C is to cool off the vehicles interior, isn't it? Would anyone say that the heater works, but it does not blow hot?"

Hey We bought that van! Not really but when we purchased our Westy Syncro 3 years ago in Berkeley, CA we had a shop inspect it for us before the purchase as we live in Alaska and could not examine it first hand. They reported that the A/C was working fine but when we got there on August 1st in 100+ temperatures we found that it blew air around but did not cool it, there was no R12 in the system. Not being acclimated to temps over `75 the first thing we did before the drive home was have the system charged and tested.
