Some items come to mind.

1. buying a $3 Sterilite drawr container to housing my sony CD changer inbetween the front seats of the Vanagon. I cut a hole in the front drawer to access the changer magazines, and then cut a hole in top rear portion so I can creatively stack the other 7 CD magazines in relative obscurity. Yeah, It Isn't a PHAT NOISE, but it gets me by. I also added a small wood tray to corral general crap and keep it under control and put a 1/2" piece of dense neoprene rubber between the two for dust protection and anti-slip properties.

2. Decided to add versatility to my aftermarket VDO Gauges by adding DPST switches allowing me to read either Fuel or Oil Pressure off the one gauge and either coolant or oil temp off the other. BTW, I had spare sending units for both, so that wasn't a cost factor.

3. Making a prop stick forthe rear engine cover so I didn't have totally remove it when doing minor engine stuff. Especially handy if you have crap sitting on top of it you don't want to sit on the side of the highway on in a rain puddle. Simply routed some clevage into the ends of a 1"x2" board so it would fit the grooves of the lid and engine deck. 4. Modifying a Techron fuel injector cleaner bottle(the black one) to act as a fuel funnel for when I run out of gas. Gets more use than it should.

5. An $8 piece of 1" square aluminum channel that I mounted in the rear of the van where the rear AC evaporater used to be. Mounts on thos weled metal brackets with 3 holes each for a solid mount. I can hang a plethora of stuff from it and even had stereo super tweeters on it for a while. Al;so great for suspending a small kayak inside the van especially if I need to sleep on the Z bed that ninght and don't need the "company".

that's enough for now. BTW, the hernia repair is ready to test out the work force next Tuesday.
